Character presence over imitation.
Pyramid Head is a full-scale handmade build developed from the ground up. The helmet was constructed using EVA foam, cardboard and epoxy-based finishing techniques, while the oversized blade was also shaped from EVA foam and the costume elements were sewn and distressed by hand.
The project also relies heavily on physical performance. Years of strength training help support the exaggerated proportions of the character, allowing the massive helmet, weapon and exposed silhouette to feel physically convincing rather than purely decorative.
